Time zones

I am looking for some guidance on the best way to configure redmine and time zones.
I have two linux boxes, one running redmine and one running subversion.
Redmine is running on a bitnami stack.
The subversion box is using Central time for it's timezone.
ex: Thu Dec 03 10:12:22 AM CST 2009
When the redmine box is set to CST it gives me correct SVN times, when the redmine box is set to UTC it gives me correct times on other activities. I am trying to avoid changing the timezone on the SVN box.
The goal here is to get the correct times to display on the activity tabs for both subversion check-ins and other activities.
