Making a mirror/copied task

Added by Rob van Gulik about 14 years ago

I have a question about creating a 'mirrored task'

Say I have 3 user groups; developers / clientX / clientY
The developers make several products, and sometimes features are shared. Clients should be able to see progress for their own products, but shouldn't see anything for the products of other clients, nor should they see the in-house projects.

ProductX is developed for clientX and has feature1 and feature2.
ProductY is developed for clientY and has feature1 and feature3.
SharedFeatures is a project on which developers log their progress of shared features, such as feature1, so they don't have to log their work multiple times.

Is it possible to create the task feature1 in SharedFeatures, and create a mirror task in ProductX as well as ProductY which is updated automatically when work is logged on feature1 in SharedFeatures? This way clientX and clientY can follow the progress of feature1 along with the progress of their other desired features.

Hmm maybe to make it a bit shorter / clarify;

What I want is to link two tasks in such a way that progress in task 1 is copied as progress in task 2. Does anyone know whether this is possible? Thanks
