List custom fields that behave like the category field
I am looking for a way to create custom fields that behave like the category field which means that also users can add new list items (litte plus in create issue dialog) and the items are managed at a central point that is not in the administrator settings or at least is seperated from the custom field creation dialog.
Another problem is that when I update list items in the administrator settings they do not update in issues that are related to them.

Always adapting custom fields directly in the database is not a really good solution. Doesn't seem so hard to implement a connection between defined values of custon field and the uses value in the issue. Desperately I am not really into ruby developement. Does anyone know how to do that?

I too would like to see this. I am currently researching to see what else may have been done (since this forum post is 6 yrs old).
