"Stacking" textile markup

Hi everyone,

I am trying to "stack" (not sure what the word is) multiple markups but I cannot get it to display properly. This is what I want the text to look like:

XML1

(and when I hover over XML it should display "Extensible Markup Language")

I have tried the following markup but either the acronym works or the footnote works, but never both.

XML[1](Extensible Markup Language)
XML(Extensible Markup Language)[1]

fn1. "Wikipedia":http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XML

Is there any way I can get this to work properly?

Probably a limitation of the current textile parser redmine uses.
