lots of processes running

I found that my redmine setup is start very slow. I found that mem is runing up (I've just 256MB) but that just start some time ago after updates/redmine updates.
I found that are 3 ruby processes running and lots of apache2...

is that normal?

8 ruby processes
13 apache2 processes
I've just opened in 3 web browsers..

any problem were?
