Changing issue status from Tortoise SVN

Hi all, I'm new about Redmine. I have linked the Tortoise SVN to Redmine using the TurtleMine plugin. We are able to close the open issues during the commit. Is it possible to change the issue status ( i.e. from New to In progress) during the commit, or is it possible only to close/fixed the issue?
