Step by step setup of how to get Redmine to fetch emails from Gmail and create tickets.

I am running the latest Bitnami stack with Redmine 2.0. I have read the supporting documentation but it isn't as clear as I would like. I am learning Linux as I go on this install and do not fully understand rake files or how to implement them. Does anyone have some true step by step instructions on how to set this up? I have been able to setup auto account creation, LDAP authentication and outgoing email so far, but am kinda stuck on the fetching of emails, auto bug creation from emails and updating existing tickets from an email response. I appreciate any help.
