where can i configure email notifications to fellow members

Dear all,
we just installed Turnkey_redmine-12.0_Squeeze_x86, i want to configure email notifications for fellow members, when something got changed in activity, and issues, are anything related to their involved projects. This feature where can i configure,...
I saw some previous posts related to same problem, some people saying that, we need to configure .yml file in configuration directory. where can i find this file. i mean in my Turnkey_redmine-12.0_Squeeze_x86. version is this applicable. or do i need to change something else in elsewhere.
