How to upgrade v1.3.0.stable.8419 to v2.1.2 with SVN?
Added by James Ang about 12 years ago
Hi,
I've currently v1.3.0.stable.8419 installed via SVN checkout method.
I intend to upgrade to v2.1.2 and wish to know what are the important steps & consideration that I need to lookout for. The machine is running on Ubuntu 11.04.
As Ubuntu 11.04 will be out of support, I wish to upgrade it to 12.04 LTS along with the upgrade to Redmine from v1.3 to v2.1.2.
I've the following plugins running too.
1) Redmine Better Gantt Chart plugin v0.5.5
2) DMSF v1.2.2
3) Redmine Light Box plugin v0.0.1
Is there anyone with similar configuration that has done the upgrade to v2.1.2 advise me on the prepartion needed to for a smooth transition.
Thank you.
James Ang.

I've updated directly from 1.3 to 2.0, there were no major issues. The only problem can be plugin update, you should check if they support Redmine 2.x. And make backups before upgrading, of course.

Hi, thanks for the positive feedback.
Did you complete the update via the 'svn update' commandline at the redmine root folder?

No, I've just downloaded a new version, unzipped it, and copied configuration files (see notes in RedmineUpgrade steps, some settings/files were removed or renamed).
