Notification emails not being sent. Test email works perfectly

Hi,

I am having a problem sending notification emails.

Here are the things that I have checked:
1) All email notification settings under the 'Administration'->'Email notifications' settings are enabled.
2) All email notification settings in 'My Account', for all users have been set up.
3) A test email is being sent correctly
4) I have looked at production log, and the email is being reflected as being sent without any errors
5) I have double checked the database, in the 'user' table, that the notifications are set correctly for each user.

Yet alas, no email notifications.

Any help would be kindly appreciated. If you need any further info, please could you tell me how to get it to you. I know my way around Linux (kind of), but I'm completely new to Rails. I only installed Rails to get Redmine working.
