Wrong duration in Gantt diagram?

I'm looking at the Gantt diagram in the sandbox, more precisely to Feature #1811 which has an estimated time of 12 hours, spent 1.5 hours, done 80%, and due date 12/31/2009.
Is it correct, that in the Gantt diagram the duration bar is months long (from start date to due date), when the issue has a nominal duration of 12 hours? Shouldn't it be 12 hours after start date?

I would say no, because finishing the 20% remaining may be not be possible until another issue is complete. Maybe that issue won't complete until 12/1/2009.

Redmine does not currently support precedence and dependency directly (as far as I can tell).

Ouch, i was planning to move away from MSProject, and dependency are a prerequisite. Anybody knows if this feature is on the roadmap?
