creating multi-line cells in a wiki table with redmine 3.4.6 - using redmine 2.3.0 code does not work

One system has a redmine version 2.3.0 with a table in the wiki.
A second system has a more modern redmine version 3.4.6 with a need to create a table in the wiki.
In the redmine version 2.3.0, some cells are multi-line cells.
On the system with the more modern redmine 3.4.6, using the redmine 2.3.0 code to create a table with multi-line cells does not work.
Could use some help with how to create a table in the wiki with multi-line table cells in the redmine 3.4.6.
Please help if you can.
