Redmine Sprint Board Pro plugin: Custom Query field not showing up for users

Greetings! This post is regarding the "Redmine Sprint Board Pro" plugin by Sivamanikandan at https://github.com/railsfactory-sivamanikandan/redmine_sprint_board_pro.git.

Our team recently installed and started using the plugin, and it is working well for us in most ways. However, I am the only one on the team that is able to see the "Custom Query" field in the Agile Board header section.

I have attached a .jpg of the Custom query field for reference.

How do we set Redmine in order that all project team members are able to see this field and use it?

I think Github would have been the better place to ask questions about this plugin ... slightly, the creator doesn't seem to respond too often.

But as I randomly found your question and by chance also have played around with Sprint Board Pro:
The "Custom query" field appears once you clicked "Save as My Default" on the Card Display Configuration above.

Thanks very much for your reply! I will bring this back to my team today and have them test it.

FWIW, one of our Scrum Masters did reach out to the developer on GitHub (I don't have a GitHub account but he does), and we discovered as you did that the creator is slow to respond (or doesn't respond at all). That's why I came here, in the hopes the answer would present itself via the forums - many thanks again for answering our post!

Our test, sadly, did not result in making the Custom Query field appear for anyone other than me.

I'm a Redmine administrator for our teams, and I've set the plugin to be visible and usable by anyone on the project in all roles.

I also found out that the Custom Queries I've previously made all appear in my Custom Query drop-down menu, but I am unable to delete them. Is there a provision to accomplish this?

The instruction guide at the developer's GitHub page doesn't seem to cover all the context needed. In addition, in at least one case, the instructions for how to configure permissions do not match what I see on our Redmine when I follow them - examples:

  • There is no "View Agile Charts" option anywhere in the permissions area under Administration
  • Admin-Settings-Projects-Agile Board is only an on/off switch for whether the module is used in all new projects by default, it is not a "configuration" location for the plugin as expected

Our Redmine version is 6.0.5, so I am wondering if perhaps it's just not compatible with this plugin after all, given that the instruction guide only mentions compatibility with 4.x and 5.x. The original plugin

Oliver L, your input has really been helpful so far, if you are able to give more insights, I'd love to have them!

Anyone else who has experience with this plugin - if you can assist, I'd really appreciate it!
