Description
Howdy Y'all,
I'm in the process of switching from the Windows XP SP3 to the Linux Mint Debian Edition operating system for the usual reasons.
Prior to installing and learning how to use Audacious I have a couple of questions.
I am currently running JRivers Media Jukebox on Windows. This program cannot run on Linux distros even with WINE and/or Crossover Linux, so I need to install a different jukebox program into LMDE. I've downloaded and installed several, but none seems to meet exactly what I need as a major use for my computer is playing music (I've some 11k+ music files (songs). My current songlist contains songs labeled (properties) whith several genres (Example: Julie London performing "I'd Like You For Christmas" which currently has the properties of Female vocal, mood, romance, easy listening, and Christmas which are a few of my genre dynamic playlists.
Most jukebox programs which can run on a Linux Distro (Banshee, Rhythm Box, XBMC, etc can create dynamic playlists (Smartlists)but here are my problems and questions:
1)*I wish to have a jukebox or media player program which can create dynamic playlists by genre* play any selected list, but allow me to add another playlist, artist, albumn and/or to the 'Playing Now' playlist.
2) I also wish to have a program which will allow me to filter out a genre from what's "playing now". (JRivers Media Jukebox can perform the above tasks).
An example: If I am playing a mood music playlist, I wish to be able to add a torch song playlist to the "playing now, but exclude songs in the Christmas genre." And then shuffle the "*complete playing now*" list.
Can Audacious do the above tasks? If not, does anyone know of a music/media player which will run on a Linux Distro which can? (Proprietary or Non-proprietary).
I'll be happy to try to restate my questions if I did not make them comprehensible to anyone.
Thanks in advance for the assistance.
