Hello,

I'd like to propose to include the functionality of this seemingly unmaintained Plugin into mainline. Since nowadays git-flow and similar approaches are common and this would be an easy way to prevent the issue of forgotten refs … in commit-messages.
This is in no way limited to git. Same applies for other SCMs

So to summarize I'd like to propose:
  • getting related ticket by branch-name
    • additional tickets can still be referenced by adding them to the message
    • additional actions can still be performed using the message
  • closing issues on merge
