Hello, 

 In the installation guide [[EmailConfiguration]] http://www.redmine.org/projects/redmine/wiki/EmailConfiguration 
 we can read about the smtp port config: 
 port: '587' 
 The good syntax syntaxe is (remove the quote): 
 port: 587
