A redmine plugin to suppress email notifications (at will) when updating issues.

Especially useful for silent mass-updates when you don't want to spam all the project participants with your minor update.

This is a fork of the Silencer plugin with contributions from github users @commandprompt, @paginagmbh and @tofi86. It adds compatibility with redmine 2.4.x and customizable plugin default settings.

Installation notes

Simply clone the git repo under plugins/ in your redmine directory and restart the webserver.

Then go to Administration > Roles and permissions and enable 'Suppress mail notifications' permission for roles that need to be able to do that (typically Manager and/or Developer.)

You can also enable the 'Suppress mail notifications' checkbox by default in Administration > Plugins > Configure for the 'redmine_silencer' plugin.

Critical plugin to avoid annoying users.

I can't imagine using redmine without this plugin. I have it enabled for all roles. It's so easy to forget to update a field in an issue and this plugin allows users to avoid spamming watchers with email notifications.

Love it. Use it daily. A most have if you post lots of comments/notes but do not want to spam watchers with email notifications.
