Speeding up Mercurial tests |

=========================== |
| 38 | ||
| 39 |
Unlike the commands of other SCMs such as Git and Subversion, the hg command |
| 40 |
is slow to start because it has to start the Python interpreter every time it |
| 41 |
is invoked. Since the Mercurial tests invoke hg several hundred times, most |
| 42 |
of their run time is spent on starting the command. |
| 43 | ||
| 44 |
chg, a client for the Mercurial command server, avoids this startup cost. If |
| 45 |
chg is installed on your system, you can make the Mercurial tests much faster |
| 46 |
by adding the following setting to config/configuration.yml: |
| 47 | ||
| 48 |
test: |
| 49 |
scm_mercurial_command: chg |
