Moving from Pivotal Tracker to Redmine

Added by test 1212 about 13 years ago

We'be been quite a heavy users of PT, however, once they decided to charge for the service, they don't stand the competition for our needs. So I have a couple of questions to Redmine community:

1. Can I create/update/close issues by email?
2. I like the process of Delivering finished issues and then Accept/Reject for it, before it's done, like in PT. Do you have anything similar in Retrospectiva?
3. Any dependencies between tasks? Like evidence based, etc. Rather than markdown syntax and pointing to other stories? Once you point to story - is there any helper to find an issue based on the title, instead of id?
4. Current & backlog - is it possible?

Thanks!

To answer your questions in order:

1. Yes, the email API is a standard feature of Redmine.
2. Yes, you can use two statuses (e.g. the built-in resolvedclosed) to emulate this workflow. (I think you mean Redmine, not Retrospectiva)
3. Yes, you can add "related issues" and mark them as before/after/blocked by, etc. I don't think there's any helper for entering titles instead of IDs here, but Redmine's search feature works OK for this.
4. Yes, have a look at the Redmine Backlogs plugin.
