Cannot change issue Status from new to "In Progress"

I'd like to mark a task(issue) as "In Progress) when I start working on it.

However, when I click on the Update link the status is "New" and cannot be changed. I've read the FAQ, and verified that in my workflow I have permissions to change from "New" to "In Progress".

I can't change it in the Issues list in the right-click menu either. Other issues that are "Resolved", I can change to "Closed".

The only one I'm having problems with is changing from "New". Any ideas?

I'm using Redmine 1.1.1

Are you a member of the project the issue is in? Being admin isn't enough for this.

Very odd though, that you can do everything else but that one thing...

That's intended so that admins can't do things not intended by the status workflow.
