Adding + sign in a custom field

Hi,
I would like to add the + sign with a custom field which i created however cant seem to find any documentation regarding this button. anyone managed to add it?

Supposing you are talking about the add icon ( ) that is shown next to the category and target version fields on the issues new/show/edit views, while being logged-in as a user having the accompanying permissions: such feature is not available for any other issue fields other than the two I've mentioned before nor for custom (issue) fields.
