How to setup ldap authentication with Redmine?

Added by fae m g about 14 years ago

I wonder if someone could help me configure my Redmine to use ldap authentication ...

I have several questions:

What attributes must have my ldap server?

Is there something to configure Apache?

For more information I use openldap and use more Passenger Apache module.

Please if someone can answer me in Spanish, my English would be grateful to this day is very bad.

Thanks

PD: I've seen the Redmine wiki ldap but I do not quite understand

You don't need to change anything in apache for that.

You can use whatever fields you like in the ldap, but they should contain something like a login, a last name, a first name and a mail address, typically those are on LDAP (or when using the INEtOrgPerson schema that is): login, sN, givenName and mail. You have to put those values in the LDAP configuration in redmine so that redmine knows what LDAP attributes map to the redmine attributes. Please also note that redmine will need read access to those attributes (either because everyone can or because you have a special user in your LDAP redmine can use, in which case you must specify this information in the LDAP configuration in redmine).
