Referring to Git commits in other projects

Added by Elroy Jetson over 12 years ago

Hi there,
I'm running Redmine 1.2.1.

I have several projects set up in my Redmine instance, some of which have Git repositories associated, and some of which don't.

I'd like to be able to link to commit from issues in a project which doesn't have a Git repository to a project which does. I've tried using this syntax:

my-project-name:f30e13e43

but the link doesn't get generated. It just gets displayed as plain text.

However, if I use this style of linking from the tracker of the project which has the Git repository attached, like so:

commit:f30e13e43

it works fine.

I wonder if, in the first case, either:
  • there's a problem in how I'm referring to the other project
  • this style of linking doesn't work unless you have a Git repo set up in the project you want to link from (which doesn't make any sense)
  • this style of linking doesn't support hypens in project names

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
