How to setup a role product manager and manage ticket visibilty for the role?

Added by Anonymous about 12 years ago

Hello,

I'm new to Redmine, which I'm running on a Bitnami virtual machine with version 1.3.1. I searched the forum and the FAQ but haven't found anything relevant for my problem. I hope you can help.

What I want to do is the following:

I want to have a role 'product manager', which will be assigned to someone of our customers.

This product manager role just needs to see bug tickets and feature tickets for iteration planning.
We'd like to use the support tickets for internal stuff like setting up VPN users or something like that.

Is there a way in Redmine to disable a specific ticket type like support tickets for a role specifically?

All I found are the following option:
  • Set ticket visibility with differentiates between public, private, and own tickets.
  • Use workflow matrix to restrict the different transitions.

Both options are not sufficient and I found now way to restrict access to support tickets otherwise.

Is there even such a possibility? Or would that be an extension of, for example, feature request #8050 (Feature #7412 sounds similar, but is not the solution for me)?

Sort of work-around would be to not allow access to tickets for the product manager at all and do iteration planning only as part of a meeting where I control what is shown of the Redmine ticket database. That is, however, not the solution I'm looking forward to.

Best regards,
Theo

There are several issues concerning this.
http://www.redmine.org/issues/3726. This is not possible in the current version and in the current trunk (r9160).
