How to set a user is unavailable on certain days

Added by Svetlana Rojevsky over 9 years ago

I am trying to avoid assigning users on issues with the specific date when this user is unavailable? Is there a configuration for a user profile that will help, say give an error or a message?

Thank you!

There is a plugin to manage attendance but it doesn't seem to give a warning if you assign an issue to a user is on a leave...

Martin,

Thank you! It has a very good UI, however, it is not exactly what I am looking for and is not an open source.

To be more specific, I need to proactively mark users as unavailable/available on certain days, not logging their vacation or sick time for attendance purposes (which may be nice to have as well). Sort of like each user has its own calendar. E.g. John works Monday-Thursday, Jane works Tuesday-Friday, Jill only there on Wednesdays. Each has very unique skills and therefore jobs they can do. I have a scheduling tool that is built with Redmine backend, and I am struggling to figure out how to have someone who is not aware (or doesn't need to remember) our team arrangements can schedule work to be done. Say I want painting to be done by Jill on Tue, oops, Jill is only available on Wednesdays, OK, I'll schedule for Wednesday. I hope I was able to explain...

Thank you, Svetlana

Actually that plugin is open source (GNU GPLv2). But not free.
If you had the attendance, you could have add a validator to check that the person is available when assigning the issue.
I don't know a plugin that does exactly what you would like. It was the closest thing I had in mind.
Maybe more research is needed here...
