Backup and Restor

Hi guys
How restore redmine?
I create backup db mysql with mysqldump command and save redmine/files/ directory. Then i install new system on new machine. When i end my instalation i copy old redmine/files/ and do mysql restore with
mysql -u user -ppassword redmine < Path.
But db not restore what problem mb? i use same OS and distirbutive db, ruby and redmine.

when i create dbdump i must stop redmine or not?
How true sequence i must do?

Does the old and new installation have the same version?

You have to copy and maybe adjust also the config files. The new Redmine instance needs to be configured for the database and email settings.

all works, befor dbdump needs stop redmine.

I don't think that you have stop Redmine, as long as nobody is currently working with it. I'm not that sure since it also depends on how you set the paramaters on mysqldump. But if Redmine does not access the DB mysqldump should just dump the current data.
