Mail notifications sent for recent projects only (created after setting up the SMTP connection)

Dear all,
I'm new to Redmine and use Redmine 2.3.3 on Ubuntu 10.04 with MySQL.
I've created a project and set up an asynchrnous connection to a SMTP server for mail notifications.
My "default notification" option is "For any event on all my projects" and I've enabled all the actions.
I receive the test mail and the notifications for newly created users.
However I do not receive any notification on the events related to the already existing project.
I've created a new "test" projet and began to receive some notification on issues.
It seems there is a bug preventing to retroactively send tthe notifications for the project created before setting up the SMTP connection.

The problem seems actually linked to a group of user. I I remove it from the project and add the users one by one I get the notification.
Don't understand why tough...

No, maybe related to #5163 instead. I'm closing it, please reopen if you have more information about the root cause.
