One thing that my team felt is really lacking from the forums is making it obvious when there are new posts. I've created a patch that does just that -- it bolds boards that have new activity and thread subjects that are new since the last visit, excluding those you've already visited. I imagine this could be improved display-wise to perhaps show an icon or what-have-you, so certainly feel free to modify this as you see fit.

I looked in to creating some test cases for this, but it looks like the test coverage for the boards are pretty minimal as is. I did verify that the current tests are not broken by this patch, however.
