Description

One of my central projects had become hard to manage so I split out about 25% of the functionality into a new project. As I set about moving 100's (and soon 1000's) of tasks to the new project I realised a major drawback of my approach - all the category information is lost.

  1. I would like an option to copy a project and optionally copy all its categories.
  2. I would also like this: #23066

This issue is related to, but does not duplicate #5358 as my projects are not necessarily subprojects.

Hi,

when you change the project of an issue, if a category with the same name exists in the new project, the category is transfered. So you just have to add the same categories in the new project before to copy the issues.
When you copy a project, you have a checkbox to copy the issue categories, I think you have missed it.

So I think this feature does not need enhancements.
