Currently, users can only choose between the default options under My Account → Email notifications (“all events in all projects”, “all events in selected projects”, “no events”). To increase flexibility and transparency, an additional mode “Individual settings” should be introduced, allowing users to configure notifications in a more granular way.
Background / Goal:
Users want to control in detail for which tickets and events they receive email notifications. This reduces unnecessary emails, improves clarity, and supports more focused work.
- Under My Account → Email notifications, a new dropdown option appears: “Individual settings”.
- The existing options remain available:
- For all events in all my projects (as before)
- For all events in selected projects (as before)
- For no events (as before)
- Individual settings (new)
- When “Individual settings” is selected, the following options are displayed:
Statement: “I want to be notified about changes in the following issues:”
- issues assigned to me
- issues I’m watching
- issues I own
Statement: “I want to be notified about the following changes in the selected issues:”
- List 1 (mandatory, single choice only):
(non-listed = changes to custom fields, due date, start date, estimated effort, adding related issues)
- everything except
- only the selected
- the selected and all non-listed events
- List 2 (mandatory, at least one choice required):
- Status changes
- Title changes
- Priority changes
- Category changes
- Description changes
- Comments
- Assignment
- Users will only receive email notifications for the selected issues and the selected events according to these settings.
Expected Result:
Users can configure their notification settings under My Account in a much more fine-grained way. Email notifications become more targeted, relevant, and adaptable to each user’s work style.
