Cannot filter on Status in Issue List?

Is there any reason you cannot filter on that status field in the issue list? For Instance for redmine.org, you cannot filter all "new" issues.

You can:

http://www.redmine.org/projects/redmine/issues
Select filter: [x] Status / is / New
then click on Apply button
