How to recover old Redmine configuration to be used with last issue?

Added by Jerome Marty over 9 years ago

Hi,
I have used Redmine issue 1.3.3 until now. Now we have just migrate to the last issue (2.6.0).
Is it possible to recover easily all configurations (trackers, members, workflows, role etc...)?
Are Redmine 1.3.3 projects compatibles with current issue?

Hi Jerome,

Redmine is made to be upgrade without data loss.
Usually upgrade problems come from plugins that need to be updated.

That said, as specified in the instructions, backup before doing anything!

Cheers,

Have you lost your data?
Maybe you loaded default data set as said in Installation Wiki?

Sorry for my poor preliminary description.
I don't loss data.
Let me explain more precisely my problem :
We have two servers:
- one where is installed Redmine R1.3.3 with a specific configuration (members, trackers, workflow, etc...)
- one with Redmine R2.6.0 and standard configuration

My question is : "Is it possible to copy R1.3.3 configuration and apply it on R2.6.0 (same members, trackers, etc...)

Thanks.

You should point (or better make a copy of existing 1.3 database and place it on 2.6 host) 2.6 installation to database specified in 1.3 and perform Upgrade steps (execute database migration).

Thank for your reply.

it seems that table structure are different between R1.3.3 and R2.6.0. I'm not sure of correct behaviour if we make a copy of exixting R1.3.3 table into R2.6.0 database

Migration step is especially for this case. It changes database from previous state to current state. And all your data will be saved and less changed to match current redmine's version.
