How to make more attractive Redmine Homepage?

Is there a way to create more attractive content on Redmine's Homepage/ Landing Page ?

At the moment there is only possible to place there some text (Configured in Administration->Settings->Welcome Text).

It would be very attractive for visitors, if there would be placed more text, articles, pictures and so on. Ideally, the content of the "Welcome Text" would be a whole Wiki, like in the Redmine Projects.

Is there a way to place a Wiki there without any relation to projects.
Beside the Wiki (or something else) I want to be further able to display things like "Latest Projects" and "Latest News"

I looked already on this links and I started already installation to get a first impression.
Actually it is a good idea, to combine a CMS with Redmine.
But I am not sure, if it is a good idea to create the pages with Liquid. It seems to be aimed to programmers, not to editors/writers.
A WYSIWYG editor maybe could be better.
The next time I will play with CMS plugin on the one side and with CKEditor plugin on the other side. Maybe there is a chance to combine both.

hmm, I installed the CMS plugin successfully! but I cannot find any documentation, tutorial or user manual :(

I'm also having problems to use this plugin. How does it work, what can I do?
