IMHO, closed project shouldnt be listed here.
Or at least, there can be switch (something like [x] Also search in closed projects), or it can be set in main configuration.
But now, when we have access for our customers to our Redmine, there is soo much old-closed projects listed here.

You can also archive projects which will remove them from all views as well as the search. This is possible in Administration -> Projects.

Archiving project makes them inaccessible . In our situation, we want to be able to view those projects. Only the dropdown shouldn't show closed projects (or style them differently).
