Description

I posted in Forums , but I realize this is a feature proposal

Hi all,

I've used Redmine daily for close to 15 years across many projects and love it!

The thing that is still difficult to do however is finding/previewing plugns and themes. The information in the Plugins Directory and the Theme List is good, but finding things is hard: just 1 way to filter or sort, and the themes are one long wiki page.

I'd like to take a stab at it, but before I start, is the core team open to it?

Features

  1. Search, sorting, and filters: Redmine version, category, author, tags, price, license, screenshots, repo activity. Saved searches.
  2. A compatibility table per release, plus "works on my version" reports from users.
  3. Themes shown as a gallery with with screenshot preview.
  4. "My submissions" page for authors.
  5. A REST API next to the core Redmine API, e.g. /plugins.json?redmine_version=7.0.
  6. Uses standard Redmine markup, so it works with any theme.

Moderation

Is it needed?
My suggestion: approve only a person's first submission, then let them publish directly. Admins can still edit, relabel (e.g. free vs commercial) or block a listing. More rules can be added later if needed.

Questions

Would you run this on redmine.org after code review?
What would you need from me to make it happen?

Thanks,
Nick
