Redmine Logo?

Added by Jim Mulholland over 16 years ago

Our team was going to create a Redmine Mac OS X Fluid webapp. However, we were not sure what the logo should be to symbolize Redmine on our Mac dock.

Does Redmine have an official logo?

I'm sure many people use Redmine for projects that don't relate to software at all. And the 'Flexible' part of 'Flexible Project Management' pretty much covers Software and any other category of project you might have to deal with.

William, here we use Redmine for non-software related projects, thanks to Redmine flexibility :-)

So......... How about that Redmine Logo? Pretty great eh?

Can we have a vote or an executive decision by JPL/Devs on this already?

I'm way late to the game but apparently I haven't missed the final buzzer. I like Martin's number 5 example. Nice and clean; the earlier template example looked really sharp on the silver background.

FYI: Logo

And yes, I agree on Martin's number 5. It would be good to finally settle this.

I'd like to place an advance order for the red logo on a light grey T-shirt, so I can advertise one of my favorite tools. ;)

Come to think of it, I may want several -- to attempt to foster buy-in with my users.

Here are a couple of square versions we've done for the labels on various Redmine blog posts on our site. It fits quite nicely with the other logos in this format v. the "widescreen" version that works better as a header.

Thought we'd share it here for consideration as part of the "official logos" set.

We did add a bit of drop shadow around the "mine" to help that stand out.

If I may add my own logo proposal to the mix - four versions of the same logo, based on a literal interpretation of "redmine" - this is how I always interpreted it. It's designed in vector format, so it is easily changed/scaled/etc.

As I mentioned on IRC, I strongly prefer Martin's version. Yours is not "miney" enough to show that it's the type of mine you are aiming for.

Is this the official logo? I love it and would like to upload it on Wikipedia. :-)

The generally accepted logo is this one: https://github.com/edavis10/redmine_logo/

RE: Redmine Logo? (Possible to modify for other application related to Redmine?) - Added by Akiko Takano almost 14 years ago

Hello.

Now we are buildig an Adobe AIR application with using Redmine's REST API, as RedmineAir.

Though it's under development and does not have many function yet, our goal is to release it as a open source application (...someday).

And we hope to create a logo for our application based on Redmine's "Official logo".

I wonder we can use and modify Redmine's official logo not for Redmine itself but for other application related to Redmine.
Is it possible? And if so, how to get approval? (I've attached one works being considered.)

Of course, I'll send the same message to Martin.

Any help will be appreciated.

What fonts are used? Both SVG and PDF opened in Inskape display overlapped letters in the text "REDMINE". :-D

The fonts were Bitstream Vera Sans (REDMINE) and Delicious-Bold (flexible...) and I fixed the overlapping by entering two spaces between RED and MINE.

The logo found his way now to Wikipedia. :-)

Aarrgh, spam. Admins, please delete previous comment and it's author and this comment, of course.

So here's my take. The ruby is back, and the visual noise is gone.
