Why don't you use the wiki for that ?

Because in terms of visibility for projects customers, the
Overview page is the first page people see, and even if a
lot of details can go on a wiki page where the user is
oriented, 255 characters is often too small to explain
purpose of project and give links to redirect to more
information.
